Waterproof workwear: a fabric and construction checklist
The right rain jacket or PVC rainsuit is a system of fabric, seams, closures and fit—not just a waterproof label.
Tell the factory how the garment will be used before choosing the material. A coated PVC or PU rainsuit can be practical for heavy rain and easy cleaning, while a membrane shell may be preferred when breathability and low bulk matter. Weight, hand feel, temperature range and packability all affect the final choice.
Ask how water enters the garment: seam construction, seam tape, storm flaps, zippers, cuffs, hood adjustment and pocket openings deserve the same attention as the face fabric. Request a sample in the intended color and size range, then test it using the conditions and care process your customers will actually use.
For hi-vis rainwear, specify visibility placement at the same time as the waterproof build. We can coordinate shell fabric, fluorescent panels, reflective trim, lining, branding and packaging, with any market-specific performance or certification verified against the final approved construction.
